A nervous breakdown is a mental illness but it`s not a clinical term. Stress and depression are some of the causes for a nervous breakdown in some seniors. Nervous breakdown makes it hard for a person to handle his or her daily work routine. However, there are different ways in which a person manages stress. Warning signs of having a nervous breakdown may differ for every senior but some of the most common are discussed. Here`s the list of 8 signs which may indicate an imminent nervous breakdown.

1.     Fatigue

If people are tired and stressed out everyday then it may be a sign for having a nervous breakdown. Seniors may feel extremely fatigued as all of the energy is put into managing the daily stress they are facing. Your loved ones may feel very tired when getting out of bed, showering or even making breakfast.

2.     Digestive Problems

Your loved one`s appetite may change if they are on the verge of having a nervous breakdown. They may have digestive problems or an upset stomach which is due to the fact that they have anxiety and depression. Your loved one`s eating habits may also change as a result of more stress.

Another possible sign of a nervous breakdown in seniors is disturbances while sleeping. Your loved ones may wake up many times in the night or find themselves sleeping for longer or shorter time periods. Having a restful sleep may be difficult for your loved one.
